Wetlands support many different types of flora and fauna, creating a very diverse biome. A wetland is a land area that is saturated with water long enough during the year, that a unique biome is created. Major types of wetlands include bogs, swamps, fens, and marshes. The reason that wetlands are a unique biome is because they have hydric soil, which supports aquatic plants.
