Wetland PlantsWetlands are home to many interesting plants. The shallow water is home to many plants that are on the surface, below the surface, and even ones that feed on the many insects that share their biome. These plants can be supported because of the hydric soil that is on the bottom of the wetlands. The pondweed plant is an example of a submergent wetland plant (see top image). The water lily is an example of a floating plant, because it floats on the surface of the water (see middle image). The round-leaved sundew is an example of a plant that feeds on the overly abundant insects (see bottom image).
